About WALKED UP
What is WALKED UP?
A local network of businesses, organizations and places, each one confirmed in person by a Town Ambassador who knows the town. Nothing is copied from the internet.
What does “confirmed in person” mean?
A Town Ambassador went to the address and photographed the place on site. Every listing carries the name of the Town Ambassador who confirmed it, and the date they were there.
Why “WALKED UP”?
Because every listing starts the same way: a Town Ambassador walked up to the place.
How is WALKED UP different from review sites?
There are no star ratings and no anonymous reviews. A real person in the town stands behind each listing, with their name on it.
Is WALKED UP in my town?
See Towns for every town in the network. Each town page also shows its neighboring towns.
What do the colors mean?
Each Town Ambassador has their own color, and it appears wherever their work does: their card, their profile, their listings and their charity. See Colors.
What is Walked Up Gives?
On the 18th of every month, WALKED UP gives to a local charity in each territory, chosen with its Town Ambassador. See Walked Up Gives.
For businesses, organizations and places
Does it cost anything to be listed?
No. Being listed on WALKED UP is always free.
Can I ask for my business to be listed?
Yes. Ask through the Contact page. Once a Town Ambassador has walked up to your business and confirmed it in person, it’s listed.
Something on my listing is wrong. How do I fix it?
Let us know through the Contact page, and we’ll correct it.
Can I have my listing removed?
Yes. Ask through the Contact page.
About Town Ambassadors
What does a Town Ambassador do?
Every listing in their territory is one they walked up to, photographed on site and confirmed in person. Their name is on each one.
What is a territory?
A part of a town, defined by its ZIP codes. Each territory is held by one Town Ambassador.
How is someone considered as a Town Ambassador?
Territories are limited, and each is held by one Town Ambassador. If you would like to be considered for an available territory, request an introduction.
What are Town Ambassador Gatherings?
Backyards, beaches, tailgates, kitchen tables. Every gathering is hosted by a Town Ambassador, in their town, their way. See Town Ambassador Networking for where and when.
